It was 'amor' at first sight when I saw this Mexican-inspired cushion - so please forgive me for the pun. I hadn't intended to buy anything, but having stumbled across this hand-embroidered cushion by iconic designer Jan Constantine I couldn't resist and had to order a whole selection for The Alex Edit!
Hand embroidered with the word ‘Love’ in Spanish with the letter ‘o’ stitched in the form of a heart made from flowers, this cushion is incredible. All the letters and motifs are appliquéd in a myriad of coloured felt wool, using blanket stitch, chain stitch and French knots. Edges are blanket stitched in red and the two sides are finished with black and red cut felt fringes.
It is a truly beautiful work of art and will take pride of place on any sofa or bed. I have mine on my sofa downstairs and it makes my heart sing every day.
Amor…Love…Amor… The most powerful word in any language!
